Broken Teeth

Broken teeth are a less urgent problem than knocked out teeth. If both have occurred, address knocked out teeth first by following these steps.

Broken teeth may require urgent attention from a dentist to help prevent nerve problems. Call your dentist immediately to make an appointment. If the tooth fragment is available store it in milk, contact lens solution, saline, or the mouth until the dentist can be seen as it may be possible to “rebond” the fragment.

If the broken tooth is sensitive it may be helpful to cover it with chewing gum before the dentist is seen.
