Extractions

Teeth may be removed for several reasons including extensive decay, advanced gum disease, infection, root cracks, or sometimes to create space if having braces.

In the past, it was common to have teeth removed due to even the most minor of dental problems. These days, we try a lot harder to save teeth because they usually function better than artificial replacements such as dentures, bridges or implants. Extractions are only performed after careful consideration and discussion with your dentist.

For some people, the thought of having a tooth out can cause significant distress. Our staff take a gentle approach and do all we can to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. We offer a range of sedation options which may be of assistance. Your dentist will be happy to discuss which option may be most appropriate for you.
